Horses take over the Bastioni fortress in Hamina PDF Print

The Hamina Bastioni Horse Festival CsIO of Finland takes place in 26th-28th June in the historic surroundings of the Hamina Bastioni fortress. The picturesque city of Hamina and it´s unique Bastion gathers a spectacular group of international top riders and horses from Europe. The Bastioni Horse Festival offers great entertainment for the whole family.

 

The main show jumping classes are the Hamina Grand Prix on Saturday and the FEI Nations Cup of Finland on Sunday afternoon.
- Hamina is one of the most important competitions of the season for the Finish Team. The Nations Cup ranking points collected here are very valuable in the long run, says the Event Director Tom Gordin, who is also coordinating the Finnish Nations Cup Team.

Finland´s first ever Nations Cup win was in Hamina in 2005. In 2007 the Finnish Team came second. The hopes are high as Finland wants to end the Nations Cup season among the top 10 countries in the rankings.
 

Nordic and Baltic Championships in dressage


In dressage the Nordic and Baltic Championships medals will be on state for teams in Grand Prix on Saturday and individuals in Grand Prix Kür on Sunday. The Grand Prix is also a qualification class for the European Championships The Foreign Judge is Wim Ernes from the Netherlands. He is an official O-judge who´s scores may give access to the European Championships.

Impressive Festival Entertainment program offers excitement, tradition and humour between the tough competition. On Saturday night the Bastioni After Ride Music Party will rock the little town. The Horse Festival Expo and the Bastioni restaurants will offer something for the whole family.

Around 150 horses compete in Hamina in the end of June. Over 15 000 spectators are expected to visit the Festival during the exciting weekend.
