Hamina Bastioni Horse Festival 2009 - A Program full of Top Sport and Entertainment

The International Grand Prix and Nations Cup combined with the Nordic-Baltic Championships in dressage highlights the Event

The highlight of the equestrian outdoor season - the 4th Hamina Bastioni Horse Festival - has published its program for the Event on June 26-28. The unique Bastioni venue offers a wide range of equestrian sport, from Juniors´ Style Jumping up to Hamina Grand Prix and Nations Cup. The numerous dressage enthusiasts will be presented the Nordic-Baltic Championships on the highest possible level, Grand Prix and Kür.

-The event in Hamina is an important one for the Finnish Jumping Team. Ranking  points earned here in front of the home crowd are as valuable as anywhere else, Event Director Tom Gordin explains. The venue is challenging; more like indoor jumping on the narrow arena even if ther is length enough, close to 100 meters.

Finland took the historic first Nations Cup victory in 2005 and has a second place to defend from 2007.

-We wanted to get a stronger hold of the dressage and managed to negotiate the Championships to Hamina, explaines Gordin. Let´s hope the Finnish dressage riders, both in Finland and those abroad, aim at the Championships and the high medals.

Both the jumping main classes and the Grand Prix dressage are official qualifiers to the FEI Championships. That comes from both the level of the classes and the O-judge in dresage.

The three-day Event offers both top sport and various other competitions for the young talents. Light entertainment and culinaric experiences are a must in the historic Bastioni surroundings. The Organiser expects more than 15.000 visitors over the three days
