Fredricson brothers make it a double PDF Print

The competition between the Fredricson brothers ended in the older brother´s victory. Jens with Lunatic was four hundreds of a second faster than his little brother Peder with Holliday KLG in the Hamina Grand Prix. The previous leader Jur Vrieling ended third with Sissi van´t Schuttershof.

Jens went first into the jump off and shaved almost a second off the leading time in 33.91. His victory came in the fast turn from an oxer to a vertical in the middle of the jump off.

- My horse is 13 years old and he is very experienced. I just have to think and he already goes. Sometimes he´s even faster than I am in the turns, Jens joked.
Peder came just behind his brother and started the jump off course just as fast. A pull to the second last fence might have cost him the victory. Still he says he could not have gone faster.
- I also could have had the oxer down without the half halt.
A double win in an international class is special for them but not unheard of.
- It does happen but not often enough, Jens said.
The brothers help each other out, and sometimes ride each other´s horses. Jens is the stable manager in Strömsholm and Peder lives in the South of Sweden. Their main aim in Hamina is the FEI Nations Cup of Finland presented by UB.
- We want to get Sweden back to the super league, they both agree on.

No Finns in the jump off

There were nine clear rounds out of 26 starters in Hossein Shafiee´s 145 cm main course but no Finnish riders. Raimo Aaltonen had two fences down with Eafons Polyfino (18.), and Mikael Wahlman with Wilantos van Bon Cheval (24.) and Ville Kulkas with Victory-M (25.) had both three down.
