Young Horses were judged PDF Print

The young jumping horses two-parted competition started yesterday with a judge commentary, where the competing rider Mikael Forstén and top-coach Daan Nanning estimated among other things the horses' jumping ability and technique.

The best horses in age groups were test ridden by Nina Fagerström and Anna-Julia Kontio.

Quali Quanti was the best 7-year-old
The 7-year-old holstein stallion Quali Quanti, owned by Emilia Kerimaa was chosen to be first of all jumping horses and it got the Daan Nanning-award.
"The horse has a lot of quality and sensibility, but it needs good training, and a great rider." commented Nina after the test ride.

Alabama Balia was the best 6-year old and Gigolo van de Boslandhoeve the best 5-year-old
The last year winner, gelding Alabama Balia owned by Petra Heikkinen, was chosen to be the winner of the 6-year-olds.

"The horse is a dream to ride, it would bends over backwards if the rider asked, but at this level you just really can't yet know if the horse has enough talent to the top." said Nina after testing Alabama Balia.
The best in 5-year-olds was Gigolo van de Boslandhoeve, a dutch gelding ridden by Ville Kulkas.

"The horse is nice and has quality, but it was a bit slack now." said Nina.
